Det er prisen for at have benægtet holocaust foran åben tv-skærm. Den konservative biskop Richard Williamson er af en tysk domstol blevet idømt en bøde for sine udtalelser om holocaust, skriver Spiegel Online.

Richard Williamson sagde i et interview med svensk tv - optaget i Tyskland - tidligere på året sagde, at der ifølge hans mening kun døde 300.000 - og ikke seks millioner - jøder under Anden Verdenskrig, samt at der ikke fandtes gaskamre. Ifølge tysk lov er det strafbart at benægte holocaust.

Den britiske biskop er medlem af det ultrakonservative Sankt Pius X broderskab, og det vakte stor opstandelse, da Pave Benedikt bød Richard Williamson og tre andre biskopper tilbage til den katolske kirke efter mange års udelukkelse.

Richard Williamsons advokat meddeler, at han overvejer at anke dommen.
