Fredsceremoni på årsdagen for verdens første atombombe

Det var den 6. august 1945, at USA kastede atombomben over den japanske by, Hiroshima. Tre dage senere faldt den anden atombombe i verdenshistorien over Nagasaki. Bomberne var et led i Anden Verdenskrig og blev kastet for at få Japan til at overgive sig betingelsesløst. 
Her sætter nogle børn papirslanterner ud på floden Motoyasu i Hiroshima for at trøste de efterladte fra ofrene af atombomberne.

Onsdag var det 69 år siden, at verdens første atombombe blev smidt over den japanske by, Hiroshima.

I Japan markerede de den historiske begivenhed, der var med til at afslutte Anden Verdenskrig, med lys og ceremonier.

(FILES) - This August 1945 photo from the US Air Force, shows the Crew of the B-29 bomber "Enola Gay" (L-R) navigator Major Theodore Van Kirk, pilot Col. Paul Tibbets and bombardier Major Thomas Ferebee after dropping the first atom bomb on Hiroshima on 06 August 1945.  The lone remaining crewman of the Enola Gay - - which dropped the first atomic bomb on Japan near the end of WWII - - has died in Georgia, US media reported July 29, 2014.
