Demonstranter og politi tørner sammen i Athen

I en regn af ild og tåregas sluttede gårsdagens demonstrationer i den græske hovedstad. Befolkningen demonstrerede mod regeringens låneaftale, og kampklædt politi svarede igen

I går eftermiddag demonstrerede grækere i massevis mod regeringens nye låneaftale med EU - en aftale, der til forveksling ligner den, grækerne sagde nej til ved en folkeafstemning forrige weekend.

Over hele Europa var der sympatidemonstrationer, herunder også i både Aarhus og København.

I løbet af onsdagen forløb demonstrationerne i Athen fredeligt, men da mørket faldt på, trak både demonstranter og politi i kamptøjet.

På den centrale Syntagmaplads foran det græske parlament blev adskillige biler og containere sat i brand, og flere demonstranter blev anholdt.
