Flygtninge trodser isnende kulde for at nå Europa

Presset mod Europa fortsætter ufortrødent trods dårligt vejr, politiske stramninger i mange lande og spirrende fredsforhandlinger i Syrien. Der er tilsyneladende en opfattelse af, at det gælder om at nå i sikker havn, før det forjættede kontinent trækker sine vinde-broer op og får etableret en effektiv kontrol af de ydre grænser

Mens EU's ledere på topmøder drøfter, hvordan flygtningetrømmen bremses, og nedlagte grænsestationer genopstår i Europa, vandrer en konstant strøm af mennesker fra Grækenland op gennem Serbien (billedet) med Nordeuropa som mål.

Et bredt flertal i Folketinget vedtog i dag lov 87, der skal gøre Danmark mindre attraktivt som asylland. Flygtninge vil fremover modtage færre penge pr. måned, vente længere på familiesammenføring, og det bliver sværere at få opholdstilladelse. Dertil kommer den nok så omtalte mulighed for konfiskation af smykker og værdigenstande, som nok snarere er et signal til potentielle asylansøgere end en økonomisk indtægt for den danske stat.

Sverige har bebudet, at landet vil fastholde sin grænsekontrol frem mod foråret, mens et politisk kursskifte i Tyskland er godt i gang.

De endnu ikke påbegyndte fredsforhandlinger i Syrien kan strande, før de for alvor er kommet i gang, og prognoserne viser, at der sandsynligvis kommer endnu flere flygtninge til Europa i år end rekordåret 2015.
